d' Tocqueville's Observation: The Archetypal Example
from Proper Societal Order in the Introduction

As observed and commented on by d' Tocqueville, early Americans sought fulfillment of their own personal needs and interests that in turn were also beneficial to those around and with whom they had interaction. This was for them, as assessed by d' Tocqueville, to be the proper model for their society. Etiam Tu agrees with this assessment and sees this condition as an archetypal example upon which it draws support for the worthiness of its goal of creating a world of cooperation and peaceful coexistence. The social arrangement is at the heart of Etiam Tu's goals to revive this unity, and sense of community, and to perpetuate the condition throughout the remainder of mankind's existence.
